In my previous role as a SME Subject Matter Expert in IT I putting my security consultant's hat on, I successfully addressed a critical vulnerability in a mortgage broker's client database. The client's system was experiencing frequent unauthorized access attempts, resulting in data breaches and potential financial losses. Through meticulous analysis of procedures and security protocols, I identified a misconfiguration in their security rules that allowed unauthorized access. I then developed and implemented a comprehensive solution involving security rule updates, enhanced intrusion detection and employee security awareness training. This resulted in a significant reduction in unauthorized access attempts and improved overall network security.
Another project involved developing a custom security awareness training program for an accountant client experiencing a high rate of phishing attacks. By tailoring the training to their specific needs and incorporating interactive modules, I improved employee awareness and reduced successful phishing attempts by 75%. These projects highlight my ability to solve complex cybersecurity challenges and deliver effective solutions.
Financial Institution
A finance client needing data protection during a cloud migration. In my previous role as a cybersecurity consultant, I successfully completed several projects. This required close collaboration with their IT team, which involved clear and consistent communication to ensure a smooth transition and minimal disruption to their operations.
Another project focused on vulnerability testing. This involved identifying vulnerabilities and providing detailed reports, which again required strong communication skills to explain complex technical issues to a non-technical audience. In both cases, I successfully delivered projects on time and within budget, demonstrating my ability to manage complex tasks and communicate effectively under pressure.

Random House (publishing industry)
Website protection, database management and application development. Working securely inline on website applications with Open Worldwide Application Security Project OWASP Top 10 list, such as sql injection, sensitive data exposure and common vulnerability exposures (CVEs) mitigations. Work was also conducted on the email marketing system, filtering the data and eliminating spam emails threats.
